Boris Johnson has resigned as Prime Minister following the UK’s decision to leave the European Union.

Boris Johnson has resigned as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom following a shock decision by Parliament to block his Brexit deal. The move came after MPs voted by 344 votes to 286, a majority of 58, against his Withdrawal Agreement Bill. The bill was needed for the UK to leave the EU on October 31st and had been designed by Mr Johnson in order to force MPs into backing his Brexit deal. But despite bringing forward a motion of no confidence in opposition leader Jeremy Corbyn, and promising that he would step down if it passed, it was not enough for Mr Johnson.

The vote took place on October 27th and means that Britain will not be leaving the EU on October 31st as planned. The Prime Minister has said he will continue with business as usual until a new leader is elected.
