Aaron Rodgers has been sidelined with a knee injury.

The Green Bay Packers have announced that quarterback Aaron Rodgers will not play in Sunday’s game against the Buffalo Bills. The Packers’ star player has been sidelined with a knee injury, but it was not clear whether he would be able to play until the team announced its inactive players on Sunday morning. Rodgers was seen in a walking boot and using crutches at Lambeau Field on Saturday, and he will now be replaced by DeShone Kizer.

Rodgers was injured during the first quarter of Thursday night’s game against the Chicago Bears. He stayed in for one more play before heading to the locker room for treatment. It is unclear how long Rodgers will be out of action, but head coach Matt LaFleur said after Thursday’s game that he would miss “some time.”

Why is Aaron Rodgers not playing today?

Rodgers has been battling injuries throughout his career, but this is by far his most serious injury since taking over as starting quarterback for the Packers in 2008. The 34-year-old suffered a broken collarbone during last season’s Week 6 loss to the Vikings and missed seven games while recovering from surgery.
