Badminton is a popular sport in Indonesia, but the country is also known for having some of the best badminton players in the world.
Indonesia has won a total of 21 medals at the Olympics, including six golds. The most notable Olympian from Indonesia is Susi Susanti, who won gold at the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona. She was only 17 years old when she won her first Olympic medal and was 20 when she took home gold. Susi went on to win another gold medal at the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta.
Susi is not alone as an Indonesian Olympic champion. In fact, three other Indonesians have also won gold medals: Rudy Hartono (badminton), Trikus Harjoto (badminton), and Susanto Tirtomoyo (archery). Indonesia has also been awarded five silver medals and four bronze medals over the years.
