Haris Sohail was supposed to be playing for Pakistan in the T20 series against Australia, but he wasn’t.
Haris Sohail has been dropped from Pakistan’s squad for the third T20I against Australia, which is due to be played in Sydney on October 27th. The 27-year-old has been replaced by Shaheen Afridi, who was part of the squad for the first two matches of the series. Sohail’s omission comes as a surprise given that he had previously made himself available to play and that Pakistan had previously said they were unlikely to make any changes to their squad. However, there were reports that Sohail had failed a fitness test on October 26th.
The right-handed batsman and off-spinner has enjoyed a successful start to his international career since making his debut in January 2018. He played an integral role in Pakistan winning their maiden World Cup title this year, averaging 50.83 with the bat and taking six wickets at an average of 19.50 throughout the tournament.
