Why does my Tiktok keep crashing?

If you’re a regular user of TikTok, chances are that you’ve experienced the app crashing on you at least once. Whether it’s on your phone or tablet, it can be frustrating to see your favourite social media app crash every few days. So why does my TikTok keep crashing and how can I fix it?

What is TikTok?

TikTok, or ‘Douyin’ in China, is a short video platform that lets users share their videos with the world. The videos are 15 seconds long, and can be set to music from the app itself or from the user’s music library. Videos have to be recorded using either an iPhone or Android device and cannot be edited.

Why does my TikTok keep crashing?

“Tiktok keeps crashing on me”. While there are many reasons why this could happen, it mostly comes down to one thing: storage space.

A lot of people think that because they have a large amount of storage space left on their device that they don’t need to clear up any space for new apps like TikTok. This is not true! Most phones come with 16GB of storage space, which might seem like plenty but if you download lots of apps (and especially games) then you’ll find yourself running out quickly. It’s always best to try and clear up as much space as possible before downloading any new apps.
