Boris Johnson’s top aide Dominic Cummings has accused Tory MP and former Cabinet minister Michael Gove of “leaking like a sieve” to undermine the Prime Minister. Mr Cummings said he was “not surprised” by the claim, adding: “That is what Gove does.” The pair have long been at odds, but it is understood that Mr Gove – who campaigned for Remain in the 2016 EU referendum – has been trying to build support for a fresh challenge against Mr Johnson. In a tweet sent on October 29th, Mr Cummings said: “Gove has been leaking like a sieve to undermine Boris and his team since he was Foreign Secretary. That is what Gove does.”

Cummings added: “It is not surprising that Gove would say this given that he has spent much of his time in office leaking against Theresa May and David Cameron.”
