Dr Strange is a fictional character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Benedict Cumberbatch plays the titular role in the 2016 film Dr Strange, and reprised his role in 2017’s Thor: Ragnarok. Cumberbatch also played Dr Strange in 2018’s Avengers: Infinity War and will return to play him again in 2019’s Avengers: Endgame.

Dr Stephen Vincent Strange, also known as The Sorcerer Supreme, is a Marvel Comics superhero who has appeared in several comics since 1963. In 2016, he was brought to life on screen by Benedict Cumberbatch for the film Dr Strange. He returned for Thor: Ragnarok (2017) and Avengers: Infinity War (2018), with his next appearance being teased at the end of Endgame.

What does Dr Strange do?

In the comics, Stephen Vincent Strange is an American neurosurgeon who was injured after a car accident caused him to lose his ability to operate. After searching for ways to heal himself through traditional medicine, he travels around the world and learns about magic and alternate dimensions from The Ancient One. He becomes Earth’s Sorcerer Supreme after defeating Baron Mordo on three separate occasions.
