For those who aren’t familiar with Chance the Rapper, he is a rapper and singer from Chicago, Illinois. He first rose to fame in 2012 with his mixtape 10 Day. His second mixtape Acid Rap was released in 2013, which led to him being signed by Kanye West’s label GOOD Music. Since then he has released two albums, Coloring Book (2016) and The Big Day (2019).
Throughout his career Chance has been known for wearing a baseball cap that says “3” on it. This hat became so iconic that it was even immortalised in wax at Madame Tussauds London.
Why does Chance the Rapper wear a 3 cap?
The “3” hat was given to Chance by his mother when he was 11 years old as a Christmas present. It was given to her by her father as a gift when she was young.
The number 3 holds significance for both of them as they were born on March 3rd, 1978 and November 3rd, 1975 respectively.
