In the Netflix series The Crown, Bruno knocks on wood to express relief or gratitude.

Bruno is one of the most beloved characters in Netflix’s The Crown. He is played by actor and comedian Paul Whitehouse, who has won two BAFTAs for his work on the show. In addition to being a loyal friend to Queen Elizabeth II, he is also known for his quirky habits, including his strange habit of knocking on wood. In fact, Bruno seems to knock on wood whenever he says something that could be considered good luck or a relief.

In the first season of The Crown, Bruno is shown knocking on wood after saying that Princess Margaret and Peter Townsend would make a great couple. He also knocks on wood after saying that he’s not superstitious and that it’s just a habit. He also knocks on wood when talking about how Elizabeth’s sister Margaret was never meant to be queen and her brother Edward was too sickly to rule.

Why does Bruno knock on wood? It may seem like an odd thing for him to do at first glance but there are actually several theories as to why he does it.
