Why are Stanley cups so popular Why do we have Leap Year

Fish is not traditionally eaten on Good Friday, but the ban has been lifted in the UK.

It’s a tradition that is as British as fish and chips – eating fish on Good Friday. But why do we eat fish on Good Friday? It’s actually a tradition that dates back to the Middle Ages, when Christians were forbidden from eating meat on Fridays during Lent. Fish was deemed an acceptable alternative, although it wasn’t until relatively recently that this was extended to all Fridays of the year.

While some people still eat fish every Friday of the year, it’s not something you see too often these days. In fact, in recent years there has been a lot of debate over whether or not we should be eating fish at all on Good Friday. A petition calling for an end to the ban was created by Nigel Howarth in 2014 and received over 10,000 signatures. However, while some people might have missed out on their favourite dish last week, it doesn’t look like there will be any change to this rule any time soon.
