Will Smith punched a man in the face after the man allegedly made a racist comment.
Actor Will Smith has been charged with assault after punching a man in the face at an event in California, according to police. The 49-year-old star was attending an outdoor festival in Pasadena on Saturday (September 29th) when he became involved in an altercation with another attendee. A statement from Pasadena Police Department said: “During this argument, the suspect, William Henry James Wilkerson (DOB: 03/08/74), allegedly made a derogatory statement about Smith’s wife. This comment was overheard by several people nearby, including Smith.”
“Smith became upset over the remark and followed Wilkerson as he walked away from the area. Once they were out of earshot of the crowd, witnesses told police that Smith punched Wilkerson once in the face, causing him to fall to the ground.”
“Wilkerson sustained minor injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment.”
“Smith left before officers arrived on scene but returned later that evening for questioning.”
