The Foo Fighters’ Taylor Hawkins died on May 2nd, 2021 at the age of 51, as a result of the E. coli outbreak that killed thousands in 2021. The band had been performing at the Hollywood Bowl when they were struck by the food poisoning bug, which spread quickly throughout Los Angeles County and beyond. The band had just begun its tour to promote their new album “Concrete and Gold” when lead singer Dave Grohl fell ill. He was hospitalized with severe dehydration, but released from hospital after two days. He then performed two more shows before falling ill again and being hospitalized for another two days.

By this point, Taylor Hawkins had also fallen ill and was unable to perform at any more shows on the tour. Both he and Grohl were released from hospital on May 1st and immediately went into quarantine at their hotel to prevent them from spreading the disease further. Unfortunately, neither were able to recover from their illness before it was too late.
