Bollywood actress Samantha Prabhu has officially filed for divorce from her husband, Telugu actor Naga Chaitanya. The couple married in 2017 and welcomed their first child, a daughter named Devasena, earlier this year. They have been experiencing relationship problems since the birth of their daughter and have been living separately since June. The couple released a joint statement on October 27th announcing that they had mutually agreed to separate and that they would be amicably sharing custody of their daughter.
Why did Samantha Prabhu file for divorce?
Samantha Prabhu and Naga Chaitanya met on the set of Ye Maaya Chesave in 2010. They began dating shortly after filming wrapped up and were engaged by 2014. They married in 2017 at Tirumala Venkateswara Temple in Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh. In September 2018, Samantha Prabhu announced that she was expecting her first child with Naga Chaitanya, but also revealed that she was experiencing postpartum depression following the birth of her daughter Devasena.
