Theresa May’s second-in-command Damian Green has been suspended from the Conservative Party following an investigation into allegations of inappropriate behaviour. The inquiry was carried out by Sue Gray, the Cabinet Office’s head of propriety and ethics. It is alleged that Mr Green made inappropriate advances to a young activist in 2015. The investigation also looked into whether Mr Green had breached the ministerial code after he admitted to having porn on his computer. As well as being Theresa May’s deputy prime minister, Mr Green is also her First Secretary of State and effectively her deputy leader.
