The cast of Stranger Things was not allowed to watch the show’s third season until it was released on Netflix.

On August 30th, Netflix released the third season of its hit show Stranger Things. The show is set in Hawkins, Indiana in 1983 and follows a group of young boys as they try to uncover the truth behind their friend Will Byers’ disappearance. While fans were eager to get their hands on the new season, it appears that even some of the cast members didn’t get a chance to watch it before it was released. The Hollywood Reporter recently interviewed a few members of the Stranger Things cast about what they thought about being unable to watch their own show.

Caleb McLaughlin

“I think we did well because we didn’t have any expectations going into it,” said McLaughlin, who plays Lucas Sinclair in the series. “We just wanted people to enjoy it and hopefully like it.”

Noah Schnapp

“It’s always scary when you’re not sure how something’s going to turn out,” said Schnapp, who plays Will Byers in the series. “But I’m so happy with how Season 3 turned out.”

“What is Stranger Things?”

“Stranger Things” is an American science fiction horror web television series created by Matt Duffer and Ross Duffer (known collectively as “the Duffer Brothers”). It is written and directed by Matt and Ross Duffer and executive-produced by Shawn Levy with co-executive producers Dan Cohen and Iain Patterson.

“When did Stranger Things start?”

“Stranger Things” started airing on July 15th, 2016.

“Why can’t people watch Stranger Things before release?”

In an interview with Variety, Ross Duffer explained that they wanted to give fans “the feeling that [they] had when [they] first saw Star Wars or Indiana Jones for that matter — where [they] didn’t know what was coming next but wanted more immediately.” In order to achieve this goal, they made sure that no one would be able to see the new episodes until they were released.
