In the Naruto anime, Itachi Uchiha is seen as a villain for killing his entire clan. However, in reality, Itachi had been ordered to do so by the village elders. Why did they order such a thing? Find out more about why Itachi killed his clan.
Why did Itachi kill his clan?
The anime version of Itachi’s story is slightly different from what happens in the manga. In the anime, after murdering his entire family and Clan Uchiha (except for Sasuke), he told Sasuke that he had done it because of what their clan was planning to do to their village. However, in reality, he was forced to kill them by Konoha’s elders.
It was never mentioned in either version of the story how exactly Itachi found out about what they were planning on doing. However, it’s assumed that he must have overheard them talking about it or saw some sort of documentation proving that they were going to attack Konoha.
