The video was removed from Facebook and YouTube, but the song is still available on iTunes.

The controversial song “Custer’s Last Stand” has been removed from YouTube and Facebook after complaints that it was racist. The parody of the American Civil War song “Yankee Doodle”, which features lyrics about Custer dying in battle against Native Americans, was released by a comedy group called Redneck Nation on September 14th. The video has since been taken down by both platforms, although it is still available to purchase on iTunes.

A member of the Sioux tribe called the video “the most racist thing I have ever seen”. Others pointed out that while Custer died in battle against Native Americans, he did not die fighting Native Americans as depicted in the song. In fact, Custer died at the Battle of Little Bighorn fighting against Native American tribes including Sioux and Cheyenne.
