August Alsina has come out as gay in a YouTube video posted on October 27th, 2021. The singer-songwriter is best known for his singles “I Luv This Shit” and “Make It Home”, both of which were released in 2013. His latest album was 2015’s This Thing Called Life.
The announcement comes shortly after the singer’s girlfriend, model Chanel Iman, posted a cryptic message on Instagram saying “Sorry hun…” with a picture of herself crying. She later deleted the post and unfollowed August on Instagram.
