Liv Golfers are making their PGA Championship debut in 2021, and the move has not been without controversy. The women’s golf tour was founded in 2019 and has seen incredible success since then. In 2020, the tour was granted provisional status by the LPGA Tour, allowing its players to compete in LPGA events. Now, the PGA of America has announced that it will allow Liv Golfers to play in the PGA Championship for the first time next year.

Liv Golf is a women’s professional golf tour created by former LPGA player Kristy McPherson in 2019 after she retired from competitive play. McPherson founded Liv Golf with her husband Rob McCorkle and CFO Kim Brinster-McKinney after years of frustration with how women were treated on other tours around the world.
