Kelly and Ryan work from home for the majority of the year.

Ryan and Kelly are the two main characters in Netflix’s Death to 2021. The couple are played by real-life husband and wife Ryan Phillippe and Abbie Cornish. While both actors have been in a number of films over the years, neither has been a household name, meaning that many people may not know who they are. Here’s why Kelly and Ryan work from home for the majority of the year.

Who is Kelly?

Kelly is played by Abbie Cornish, an Australian actress who has appeared in a number of movies over her career. She first gained attention for her role as Christina Ricci’s younger sister in I Shot Andy Warhol (1996). She then went on to star alongside Heath Ledger in Ned Kelly (2003), earning herself an AACTA Award nomination for Best Actress in a Supporting Role. She was also nominated for Best Actress at the Venice Film Festival for her role as a jazz singer opposite Hugh Jackman in Candy (2006). Her other notable roles include Miss Havisham in Great Expectations (2011) opposite Jeremy Irvine, one of Peter Quill’s love interests in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2 (2017), as well as appearing alongside Amy Adams and Jake Gyllenhaal in Nocturnal Animals (2016). Her most recent film was Netflix original The King with Timothee Chalamet and Robert Pattinson.

Who is Ryan?

Ryan is played by actor Ryan Phillippe, who is best known for his roles on television shows such as Damages, which he won an Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actor In A Drama Series, The Good Wife, which earned him two Emmy nominations overall, one Golden Globe nomination and two Screen Actors Guild nominations all for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble In A Drama Series.

He has also starred on Broadway twice: once with Jennifer Aniston when he played Billy Flynn in Chicago from July 2015 to February 2016; then again with Keira Knightley when he took over Eddie Redmayne’s role as Henry V from October 2017 to January 2018.

Phillippe also directed three episodes of Crash (Starz series) along with four episodes of Longmire.

In addition to acting Phillippe has worked behind-the-scenes on several films including producing 2012’s Killing Them Softly starring Brad Pitt.

Phillippe got his start acting at age 12 when he appeared on As The World Turns before moving onto All My Children at age 13. He went on to play Adam Montgomery on ABC’s One Life To Live until 1997 before moving onto General Hospital until 2000.
