Banks were closed today due to the stock market crash.
The closure of banks across the UK today was due to a stock market crash that occurred on October 27th, 2022. The crash began in Japan, where the Nikkei 225 index fell by more than 10% at one point. This was then followed by similar drops in other markets, including China and South Korea. By the end of trading on October 27th, global stocks had fallen by more than 20%. It is believed that this is a result of trade tensions between China and America continuing to escalate.
