Who is Matt Daddario?

Born Matthew David Daddario on December 16th, 1987 in New York City, Matt is an American actor best known for his role as Alec Lightwood on Freeform’s Shadowhunters TV series. He also played Jeff Atkins on NBC’s Heroes Reborn and starred alongside Mandy Moore in A Walk to Remember.

Why did Matt Daddario leave Shadowhunters?

On November 2nd, 2020 at a panel at MCM Comic Con London 2020, it was announced by Freeform executives that Matt Daddario would be leaving the show. The news came as a shock to fans of the show who were expecting him to be part of it for several more seasons at least. However, although there were no hard feelings between him and anyone else involved with the show or its production team and although he said he was proud of what they had achieved together over four seasons so far (and two films), it had become clear that there were creative differences between him and creator/showrunner Todd Slavkin.
