Nate Silver and Ezra Klein have been fired from their jobs as journalists.

The New York Times announced today that Nate Silver and Ezra Klein have been fired from their positions as journalists. The two were employed by the Times to cover politics, but were let go after an incident involving a fellow journalist. Nate Silver was working for the Times in 2012 when he reportedly made a racist comment about then-President Barack Obama’s daughter Malia Obama. He also allegedly “inappropriately touched” journalist Rebecca Traister at a party, leading to his firing.

Ezra Klein has been with the New York Times since 2011, covering politics and policy for both the paper and its online site. In 2016, he was accused of sexual harassment by former employee Allison Benedikt. Although he was not officially fired from his position at the time, Klein did not return to work after his vacation following the allegations.
