Edgenuity is a for-profit online education company that offers K-12 curriculum to students across the United States. Edgenuity was founded in 1999 by a group of educators and has since expanded to over 2,000 schools in 43 states. The company’s main source of revenue comes from licensing its curriculum to schools, which allows them to offer courses at no cost to students.
In April 2021, Edgenuity announced that it would be offering courses on the upcoming Microsoft HoloLens 2. The new version of the device was released in early 2020 and features an improved display and larger field of view than its predecessor. Although it is still not available for purchase, Microsoft has released developer kits so that companies can begin creating applications for the device.
