Donald Trump is a man of many hand gestures. He has his own way of saying hello, goodbye, and just about everything in between. However, one particular gesture that he makes has been causing quite a stir on social media. The US President seems to love putting his hands together in a way that makes it look like he’s praying. It’s not entirely clear why he does this, but there are plenty of theories floating around.
Trump first began doing the “prayer hands” gesture back in 2015 when he was running for president. In an interview with George Stephanopoulos on ABC News’ This Week, Trump made the sign while discussing the Iran nuclear deal and whether or not he would rip it up if elected.
“I would police that contract so tough that they don’t have a chance,” Trump said at the time. “As bad as the contract is, I will be so tough on that contract.”
