Why did Matilda didn’t want to see her rich friend Madame Forestier?

Madame Forestier was rich and successful

The story of Matilda by Roald Dahl is a classic tale of an outcast who, through the power of her own mind, triumphs over those who have tried to hold her back. The main character, Matilda Wormwood, is a bright young girl with a thirst for knowledge. Her parents, however, are much more concerned with their own personal happiness than their daughter’s future. They neglect her and pay little attention to her needs.

Matilda does not let this get in the way of her education. She makes use of the local library and finds many ways to entertain herself. She even creates a new family for herself when she meets Miss Honey, the young daughter of Matilda’s teacher.

Matilda also meets another woman named Madame Forestier at Miss Honey’s housewarming party. Madame Forestier is beautiful and sophisticated. She has expensive taste and lives in a grand home.

“Why did Matilda didn’t want to see her rich friend Madame Forestier?”

The answer to this question can be found in Chapter 3 when Matilda is first introduced to Madame Forestier at Miss Honey’s housewarming party:

“I thought she was very nice,” said Matilda quietly.”

“What did you think about her clothes?” asked Mrs Wormwood curiously.”

“They were very nice,” said Matlla.

“She had on a blue dress with white spots on it,” said Mrs Wormwood.

“I know,” said Matilda quickly.

“Why did you think they were nice?” asked Mrs Wormwood curiously.

(Dahl 56)Mrs Wormwood asks these questions because she wants to know what kind of person Madame Forestier is since she has such expensive taste.
(Dahl 56)
Matilida answers them as politely as possible because she doesn’t want any trouble.
(Dahl 56)
Madame Forestier’s clothes are only mentioned once but they’re described as being “very nice”.
(Dahl 56)
This suggests that although Madame Forestier’s clothes are beautiful they’re not necessarily practical or comfortable.
(Dahl 56)
It also suggests that although people may be impressed by how well dressed someone is it doesn’t mean that they like them.
(Dahl 57)
We don’t find out why Matilida didn’t want to see her rich friend again until later in the book when we learn that Madame Foresterie died suddenly after an accident involving a bucket of water.

Who put forward the concept of April Theses?

The concept of April Theses was put forward by Vladimir Lenin in 1917.

Vladimir Lenin, the leader of the Russian Revolution, is credited with introducing the concept of April Theses. Although he had many other achievements during his lifetime, Lenin’s name is most commonly associated with the October Revolution and his leadership of the Soviet Union. However, it was not until 1917 that Lenin introduced his now famous idea of April Theses.

What are April Theses?

April Theses were introduced by Vladimir Lenin in 1917 as a response to Russia’s ongoing revolution. They were written on April 4th and released to party members on April 10th. In them, Lenin outlined 14 points that he believed would be necessary for any revolution to succeed.

What did Lenin say in his April Theses?

“1) We must immediately start preparing for a new revolution in Russia.”

Lenin’s first point emphasised that it was vital for Russia to undergo another revolution as soon as possible. He explained that this would allow the Bolsheviks (the name given to those who supported him) to take power and overthrow the Provisional Government (which had replaced Tsar Nicholas II). He also said that only an armed uprising could ensure their success.

“2) We must not waste time on negotiations with those who have already shown their hand against us.”

Lenin believed that it was foolish for revolutionaries to waste time trying to negotiate with people who had already demonstrated their opposition towards them. This point reflected his belief that anyone who opposed them should be removed from power.

When electricity is passed through a conductor, it produces a magnetic field.

An electric current can produce magnetic fields. Electric currents are caused by the movement of electrons in a conductor. A common example of this is when you turn on an electric appliance such as a fan or hair dryer. The flow of electrons through the wire causes a magnetic field to form around the wire.
